Werner Electric Supply: Process Control Product Manager Rodney Howard – Named ISA Education Chair

New International Society of Automation Education Chair

Werner Electric Supply prides itself on hiring the best of the best and we’re honored to announce that Rodney Howard, Werner Electric Process Control Product Manager, has been named Education Chair of the Fox River Valley Chapter of the International Society of Automation, or ISA. The Werner Electric Appleton headquarters serves as ISA’s regional training center. Rodney remarked, “The thought of sharing the technical lessons and experiences I’ve gained through an exciting career in automation to the next generation, has always been a driver for me. Many took the time to share complex control strategies with me, and demystify the challenging aspects of process control engineering principles. It is now my turn to give back in the same generous fashion.”

New Role Brings New Responsibilities

In his new role, Rodney will be responsible for developing subject matter for monthly technical meetings and training courses. His goal will be to encourage information sharing for ISA conferences, technical college and high school visits. Building and maintaining understanding and cooperation between ISA, student, and other organizations will be important in encouraging joint programs. These are just a few of his responsibilities as ISA Education Chair.

The Future of Process Control

Rodney has been with Werner Electric for nearly two years and has been the driving force behind multiple new training techniques and programs including a new state-of-the-art training device that simulates automation process controls called a multifunction instrumentation asset, or MIA. In his new role as ISA Education Chair, Rodney’s goal is to invite those who wish to share work experiences, solutions and accomplishments to do so, as well as create compelling education opportunities that increase awareness, excitement, and interest, so the next generation sees the value of a career in process control and automation.

“My personal mission is to shine a bright light on exactly what a career in the process control industry looks like. The valuable, tangible skill sets, knowledge, and insights one can achieve in this field is absolutely outstanding!”
