Safety Training with Werner Electric Supply
Pop quiz! What causes arc flash? Define “incident energy.” How do you treat an electrical burn? What in the world does “AED” stand for—and why should you care?
If you or your employees don’t know the answers to these and other related questions, it’s time for a safety seminar! The experts at Werner Electric Supply can teach your team valuable skills and insight to stay safe, OSHA compliant, and incident-free.
Arc Flash Safety Training (NFPA 70E/OSHA 1910)
Arc flash is one of the biggest safety risks in our industry, and Werner Electric Supply electrical experts are trained in the most current safety knowledge. In this specialized seminar, you will learn what causes arc flash, reasons for performing an arc flash analysis, NFPA 70E and OSHA regulations and standards, the steps and skills necessary to recognize electrical safety hazards, and information required to perform an arc flash analysis with skill and accuracy.
Participants will be able to define key terms such as limited, restricted, and flash protection boundaries; arc blast; incident energy; and arcing fault current. We’ll also cover the various methods used to calculate arc flash hazards — with hands-on practice. We’ll also discuss how to choose the right tools and protective gear for maximum safety.
All participants will receive four continuing education units (CEUs) and a wallet certificate. NFPA 70E manuals are also available.
First Aid/CPR/AED Training
Safety at work isn’t just about preventing accidents. To protect your workforce fully, you also need to know how to respond when an incident occurs. That’s where first aid training becomes extremely important.
Did you know?
- 25 percent of all emergency room visits can be avoided with basic first-aid and CPR certification
- Sudden cardiac arrest accounts for 13 percent of all workplace deaths
- 75 percent of all out-of-hospital heart attacks happen at home
Not all first aid and CPR courses are created equal. Many providers don’t offer the comprehensive training needed to meet OSHA First Aid Standard 29 CFR 1910.151. Werner Electric Supply trainers are experts in occupational first aid.
Our course is split into two sessions: (1) Standard First Aid and Choking, and (2) CPR/AED and Choking. Session one covers a wide spectrum of scenarios including bleeding and wound care, burns, head and spine injuries, poisoning, bites and stings, shock, bone and muscle injuries, heat and cold emergencies, and sudden illness such as cardiac arrest, stroke, and seizures. We’ll also explore how to best approach any emergency calmly and safely.
Session two covers the latest protocol for two primary emergency response techniques: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Participants will earn a National Safety Council certificate of completion, valid for two years.
